The Charter Review Commission Public Hearings are in June
June 1, 6.30 PM, Forks Council Chambers June 15 6.30 PM Sequim Transit Center June 29 6.30 PM Commissioners Meeting Room (160) in Port Angeles.
These Public Hearings give every citizen of Clallam County the opportunity to have their voice heard. Come and tell your elected Charter Review Commission what changes you think need to be made to our "local constitution" also known as the Home Rule Charter. The Charter Review Commission wants and needs to hear from you in order to do it's job. So please, take the time to attend. Bring friends, bring your family.

What is the County Charter and why do we have it? The Clallam County League of Women Voters will sponsor an information session on this topic immediately before the next three Charter Review public hearings. Local attorney Lindsey Schromen-Wawrin, a specialist in constitutional law, will speak at each of these sessions on “Our County Charter in Context”. Come and gain a better understanding of the legal authority of our County Charter. Knowing which types of decisions are governed by the Charter will assist you in asking questions and making useful suggestions and recommendations to the Charter Review Commission.
